	The University of the Philippines Mining Engineering Society is the first and only ~~College~~ of Engineering based student organization exclusively organized for the Mining Engineering Majors.		The University of the Philippines Mining Engineering Society is the first and only Department of Mining, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering based student organization exclusively organized for the Mining Engineering Majors.
	UP MINERS is a relatively young organization, established last 2003, but its has proven itself to be at par with any other department based organization. The organization aims for the holistic development of the members through relevant activities and projects. It also routes for the advancement of the Mining Engineering profession along side with the development of responsible and sustainable mining. 	Our mission is to promote academic excellence among its members and assist them in their pursuit of higher scholastic achievements. UP MINERS organizes projects and activities that fosters holistic growth and development of its members and shall assist and support them in preparation of their professional career. We also serve as a venue for the exchange of ideas and interests and development of camaraderie and cooperation among Mining Engineering majors for the advancement of the Mining Engineering profession. We also organize activities that will promote awareness and interest in mining among the youth and the Filipino people, and lead projects that are geared towards the preservation of the environment.
