This thesis identifies the online and offline socio-civic and political activities or processes that the Filipino youth (aged 15-30) living in Metro Manila practice in expressing citizenship. Additionally, the relationship between online and offline socio-civic and political participation, and factors related to (1) resources and attributes, (2) incentives and disincentives, and (3) social capital is probed. In the end, the typology and profile of digital and analog citizenship of the Filipino youth (aged 15-30) living in Metro Manila, and the relationship between online and offline civic and political involvement, and the three (3) sets of factors, are determined. The current effort has three (3) theoretical premises, namely the Resources Theory, the General Incentives Rational Action Model, and the Social Capital Theory.

Results indicate that all three (3) theories only partially account for involvement. In the end, youth are categorized based on involvement, from the hyper-disengaged to the hyper-engaged. Youth may be involved in at least one organization (by and large, in either a religious organization or a sports organization), and involved in ‘ethical consumerism’ (such as donating to organizations, buying/boycotting products based on principle, and supporting fundraising activities) and ‘electoral participation’ (such as registering to vote, and voting in a local/national election). The youth highly value relationships with family and peers, and ultimately demonstrate a deep love of country.
