FOR: All Deans, Director, Heads of Units

All Faculty, Staff and Students

SUBJECT: Shuttle Buses for the ''Pamantasang Hirang Centennial'' Concert at the CCP Complex

Please be advised that the University of the Philippines Diliman is providing free ride to faculty, staff and students, who will be attending the ''Pamatasang Hirang Centennial'' Concert on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the CCP Complex, Manila. Eleven buses will be parked at the back of Quezon Hall to pick up passengers on a first come-first served basis. Please coordinate with the Office of the Initiatives, Culture and the Arts for tickets. Assembly starts at 5:00 PM and departure shall be at 5:30 PM. The same buses shall transport UP Diliman attendees back to the campus after the concert.

SUBJECT: '''DEMONSTRATION ON RESIDUAL WASTE MGT'''

This is to invite all concerned to please view the on-going demonstration of the EMRTI WASTE PULVURIZER MACHINE already set-up at the UP Vanguard quadrangle, in time for the Boy Scouts of the Philippines 2nd Joint CLR / NCR Regional Jamborette. One activity for the kids is about solid waste management, and we have requested the inclusion of the said demo.

As a possible disposal alternative for residuals, the equipment shreds styrofoam, tetrapacks, PE bags, plastic packaging, aluminum foil, and other plastics. After shredding, the fine materials are mixed with sand and cement to form bricks.

The demonstration is only up Friday afternoon, April 18, 2008.
