He is currently taking his PhD in Physics also at the College of Science, the University of the Philippines. Salapare is recently elected as a regular member of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP). Among the principal mandates of NRCP is the provision of assistance for the development of the research capabilities of Filipino scientists.
