Dimteng Ti Lawag, Unpublished Undergraduate Thesis, University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication.<br /> <br /> Dimteng Ti Lawag follows the story of Althea, a 6-year-old girl and her mother Susan as they cope with the sudden loss of the father, Ramon, a local fisherman. Althea, being very close to her father, can’t fully grasp the concept of death or a disappearance and believes that her father sailed off into the sun.<br /> <br /> Grounded on the concepts of Grief and Loss, the film aims to explore the process of Mourning, especially within families whose breadwinner has a high-risk occupation (e.g. fishing), following J.W. Worden’s belief that healing requires active participation (“tasks”) from the bereaved individual.
