Maia tells the story of Max, who copes with the death of her twin sister, Alex, through the use of Maia – an editing software that creates hyper-realistic films without the use of a camera. Max uses this to reconstruct her memories with Alex. The film is guided by Kracauer’s Memory Studies, Freud's Psychoanalysis and Reflexive Cinema.
